I spend a lot of time sitting in front of my laptop, but not as much as GNOME would lead you to believe.
The GNOME extensions site/service has been sluggish to the point of unuseable for me lately. It's behaving like a site under heavy load, although I have no data to back that up.
Roughly 2 weeks ago, I changed my GNOME desktop to use Dark Style so that I could test some prefers-color-scheme CSS styles. I've not changed it back since.
New accent colours in GNOME 47 are nice. I like slate.
With the release of GNOME 47, I’m most looking forward to persistent remote desktop sessions. I use GNOME’s RDP feature under 46 and it’s pretty great, apart from the non persistent thing.
Giving the Tandem Raise GNOME shell extension a try. Seems to work nicely and I think it provides the behaviour I want/need, but I guess time will tell. extensions.gnome.org/extension/1506...
I've placed a few strategic .trackerignore files around my file system in the hope that it stops GNOME Tracker from melting my laptop.
Every now-and-again my laptop gets really hot. I'm pretty sure the culprit is GNOME Tracker, but I'm not sure I want to resolve the issue. Winter is coming!
Spent a minute to clean-up my AppIndicator icons. It's a silly little thing, but the coloured icons looked out of place and whilst they were not triggering me too much, it is nice to have them fit in with the other monochrome icons.
Switched the default font on my GNOME desktop from Cantarell to Inter. Apparently this is a GNOME design team initiative. Looks good! 👍️
