Yet Another Zombie Survivors is a lot of fun on the Steam Deck!
Completed Doom (2016) on the Steam Deck. Actually, I had to switch to my PC to defeat the final boss as it glitched a couple of times on the Deck. This didn't spoil the experience though and I really enjoyed playing this. The game is mindless action, which I'm not opposed to. I may or may not play Doom Eternal next.
Not sure what I think about these new GNOME donation notifications 🤔
Completed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and Space Marine 2 on the Steam Deck. Great games. The original ran much better then the sequel, but both were enjoyable.
Just completed Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on the Steam Deck. This game is all kinds of messed up, in a good way. Killing Nazis in an alternative timeline is a lot of fun and the story is twisted. Would recommend.
My Steam Deck arrived on Friday. This thing is proper good and has exceeded my expectations. Been playing some Doom, Boltgun, and Diablo, as well as a few survivor titles.
Ordered myself an OLED Steam Deck to replace my desktop Linux machine. Late to the party, as usual, but we're changing offices/bedrooms at home to make way for the grandchild and so I'm downsizing my gaming rig.
Updated my gaming rig to Debian testing and installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. It's not the most powerful machine in the world, but it plays the odd game of Counter-Strike ok.
I don't game much these days, but tonight I connected a Xbox controller to my Fedora gaming box for the first time and played some Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr (that's a mouthful) on Steam. Everything just worked and the game plays much better with a controller than with keyboard and mouse. I'm now tempted to move that machine into the living room and connect it to our TV for some big screen gaming.
Playing some Counter-Strike: Source like it's 2004.
It’s time to admit, before God and the good readers of Ars Technica, that I have a problem. I love roguelikes. Reader, I can’t get enough of them. If there’s even a whisper of a hot new roguelike on Steam, I’m there. You may call them arcane, repetitive, or maddeningly difficult; I call them heaven.
You can now play the original Diablo (and its expansion, Hellfire) in virtually any web browser on any computer with generally excellent performance and operating-as-expected controls.
Fedora… I’d wager it’s still on its way up. It’s the kind of distro I keep hearing about, and people who rally behind it are solid believers.
I played Half-Life a lot and I have fond memories of that time of my life.
Completed it mate.
