Roughly 2 weeks ago, I changed my GNOME desktop to use Dark Style so that I could test some prefers-color-scheme CSS styles. I've not changed it back since.

With the release of GNOME 47, I’m most looking forward to persistent remote desktop sessions. I use GNOME’s RDP feature under 46 and it’s pretty great, apart from the non persistent thing.

I've placed a few strategic .trackerignore files around my file system in the hope that it stops GNOME Tracker from melting my laptop.

Every now-and-again my laptop gets really hot. I'm pretty sure the culprit is GNOME Tracker, but I'm not sure I want to resolve the issue. Winter is coming!

Spent a minute to clean-up my AppIndicator icons. It's a silly little thing, but the coloured icons looked out of place and whilst they were not triggering me too much, it is nice to have them fit in with the other monochrome icons.

Switched the default font on my GNOME desktop from Cantarell to Inter. Apparently this is a GNOME design team initiative. Looks good! 👍️

The day job has disabled OpenVPN connections in favour of using IKEv2. Took me a minute to get it working under Debian using strongSwan. VPN vendor provided zero instructions for Linux, however Windows and macOS set-up instructions were well documented, naturally.

Tapping 3 fingers on my touchpad triggers middle-click paste. This can be a real pain in the arse when I'm using 3 finger swipe gestures on my laptop -- I often find random shit being pasted into my code editor.
