Canvas Collider #1

Smashing things together and watching them explode is a basic human instinct. Actually, I'm not sure that is at all true, but smashing things together can be a lot of fun. Also, smashing things together, or more importantly, knowing how to detect when things smash together is fundamental when programming games.

This JavaScript animation is a basic block collider with collision detection. There are always at least 2 blocks on screen, one moving from left to right and the other moving right to left. A test is performed with every animation frame to detect if the blocks share the same space on screen, if they do they explode. Simples.

Web Demos

My web demos exist as a playground for creating experiments written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I have previously used CodePen for experimenting with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, but in the spirit of IndieWeb POSSE, I decided to start hosting my demos myself.

I like tag all content on my site. See below for all tags used within my web demos.
